Rachel Watson Dey serves as an Associate Director and Compliance Investigator in the Office of Equal Opportunity and Accessibility within the Division of Access and Engagement. In addition to her work with EOA, Dey enjoys collaborating with campus partners through various commissions and committees.

Born and raised in East Tennessee, Dey is a graduate of Sewanee: The University of the South, where she earned her BA in International and Global Studies with a concentration in the Hispanic World. She then attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence with a concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution. After law school, Dey went into private legal practice for a few years before transitioning to the corporate sector working in-house as a staff attorney. She joined UT’s Office of Equal Opportunity and Engagement in 2021.

In her spare time, Dey and her husband enjoy taking advantage of the proximity to nature Knoxville affords. Dey also enjoys traveling, open-water swimming, singing in a choir, and walking her two dogs.
