Meet the Coordinator in the Division of Access and Engagement

JaNay’ Turner currently serves as a Coordinator in the Division of Access and Engagement.

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Turner is a proud alumna of The University of Tennessee where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Turner’s work in diversity, equity and inclusion reaches back to her undergraduate years as a student leader advocating for the increase of diversity across campus.

For over 15 years, Turner has chased her passion of empowering young people and impacting the community. Her professional experience has taught her how strengthening lines of communication between communities can impact overall development, success, and achieve goals. In the division, Turner is responsible for managing strategic projects and initiatives for the Vice Chancellor as well as planning, coordinating, and executing special events.

Uplifting, advocating, empowering, and being a catalyst for positive and equitable change for all underserved people is what motivates Turner to get out of bed every day.

In her free time, Turner enjoys spending time at home with her husband Shawn, their young daughter and two dogs.
