Staff Spotlight: Germán Valenzuela Buccolini

In Fall 2022, Buccolini became the UT School of Interior Architecture‘s inaugural visiting professor. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of the Republic of Uruguay, after earning his undergraduate degree in Architecture from the Universidad Marítima de Chile and a Master in Architecture from the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña and the Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona. He exposes students to a different culture and perspective of disciplines of architecture and interior architecture as he teaches 2nd-year studio and upper-level Latin American Architecture. 

He is the author of several publications and recently received two prized in the international Ibero-American Architect Biennial 2022. He is the co-founder of the School of Architecture at the University of Talca and has been a visiting professor at various Schools of Architecture throughout Latin America and Europe. 

He has organized and used various events for the dissemination of Architecture such as biennials and symposiums. He is director of the Seminar on Architecture of the Territory in Detail. He was an architectural advisor for the Chilean pavilion at the 15th Mostra Internacionale di Architettura (Biennale di Venezia, 2016).
