On Thursday, June 17 at noon, the group will host the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Commission Leadership Awards Luncheon at the Knoxville Botanical Garden. William Terry Ladd III, of First Baptist Church in Chattanooga, will be the keynote speaker. Tickets are available online for purchase.

On Saturday, June 19 at 1 p.m. the group will host the MLK Commission and the Beck Cultural Exchange Center Juneteenth Celebration at the World’s Fair Park Festival Lawn Tent. The day will feature a keynote by Daryl Arnold, of Overcoming Believers Church, City of Knoxville Poet Laureate Rhea Carmon, and others. Food trucks will be available on site. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, as there will be a limited number provided. The group will be following CDC COVID-19 guidelines.
