These UT units report to the vice chancellor for diversity:

Educational Advancement Program

The Educational Advancement Program is a federally funded TRIO program that is designed for students with demonstrated academic need who are also first-generation college students, from low-income families, or who have physical or learning disabilities.

Office of Multicultural Student Life

Multicultural Student Life contributes to an inclusive learning environment by enhancing institutional efforts in retaining and graduating students prepared for a diverse global society.

Office of Equity and Diversity

The Office of Equity and Diversity fulfills an important compliance function by working with various legal mandates set out by state and federal law and university policies related to civil rights, equal employment, and affirmative action.

OUTreach LGBT & Ally Resource Center

The LGBT and Ally Resource Center works to provide a safe and welcoming environment for UT’s diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and ally communities.

Chancellor’s Council for Diversity & Interculturalism

The council advises the campus administration on creating and sustaining a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive campus climate to all groups.

Commission for Blacks

The Commission for Blacks is appointed by the chancellor to advise on planning, implementation, and evaluation of university programs, policies, and services as they relate to black students, faculty, and staff.

Commission for LGBT People

The Commission for LGBT People is appointed by the chancellor to advise on planning, implementation, and evaluation of university programs, policies, and services designed to improve the status of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people on the Knoxville campus.

Commission for Women

The UT Commission for Women is appointed by the chancellor to advise on planning, implementation, and evaluation of university programs, policies, and services designed to improve the status of women on the Knoxville campus.
